Carney taps new adviser to lead response to Alberta separatism - June 24, 2026

Those numbers are in line with the data renowned Alberta pollster Janet Brown has collected over several years.

In an interview with The Globe on Tuesday, she said her most recent public polling for CBC showed separatist sentiment at 27 per cent − a number that has remained largely unchanged over six years of polling on the issue. The April poll is based on 1,200 respondents with a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points. In it, 67 per cent said they would vote against separation and another 6 per cent said they were unsure.
