The federal Liberals have been successful in attracting MPs from the Conservatives and NDP to cross the floor. In order to rebuild the federal NDP, leader Avi Lewis needs to be seen "looking for practical solutions and not spouting off whatever stereotypical ideological message that leaders like Pierre Poilievre like to spout off," according to John Santos, a political analyst.
