At the moment, separatism lacks broad appeal. A poll last month by Janet Brown Opinion Research found 27% said they would vote for independence, with enthusiasm higher among men and rural Albertans, while 67% said they would vote against it. The percentage who were unsure or refused to answer was 6%.
